After that time strain the sea moss into a glass jug or bowl to separate the sea moss fibre, which you can eat also, or fine chop in meals, so nothing is ever wasted.When you strain the sea moss liquid, it will look like the sea moss gel has not been successful, but as soon as this cools down enough to transfer into your glass jar, you will see this thicken up considerably. Transport into your glass jar and put into the refrigerator, the gel will continue to solidify, and a few hours later, your gel will be ready for use. If the gel is a little too thick or thin for your use, simply amend the water you add next time.Regardless of your method, sea moss gel keeps for 2-3 weeks when refrigerated in a glass jar. I am thrilled to launch my first South African product in the form of wild Cape Green Rooibos tea. Rooibos is a highly revered botanical, endemic to the southern tip, or cape, of South Africa - one of the most biodiverse regions of the World, where it grows alongside 100s of other endemic species in a Mediterranean class climate. Whereas millions of people around the world already drink the oxidised/fermented form of Rooibos, known as red rooibos, or commonly as redbush tea, our wild-harvested rooibos is purposefully green. You see, the potency is in the green.Green rooibos vs red rooibos, is very much akin to the difference between green tea and black tea. Whereas red rooibos is only dried after it has undergone significant bruising and oxidation/fermentation, as is the case in the production of black tea from the green tea leaf harvest, green rooibos is simply freshly harvested and dried. As a result, just like with green tea, green rooibos has a much high polyphenol and antioxidant concentration, and, in particular, it is rich in a very interesting flavonoid polyphenol called Aspalathin, that is essentially unique to the rooibos plant (Aspalathus linearis). When rooibos is led through the standard issue bruising and oxidation/fermentation procedures, its leaves turn that characteristic red colour, but in the process, the majority of Aspalathin is degraded. Precisely, the same thing happens with the famed catechins of green tea, which are considerably degraded when camellia leaves are turned into black tea.Now you can enjoy an infusion of this incredible South African bush everyday, just as Nature had intended - rich with Aspalathin, a compound that South African and numerous international scientists are viewing with great promise. After many years of research and sourcing, I am so excited to bring you these truly wild Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) mushrooms, carefully hand-harvested, by experienced mushroom harvesters, in the old growth wild forests of the Altai Republic, Siberia, and then gently sun-dried.Genuine wild reishi, authentically grown in the wild on wild trees, is really rare on the market, unless you are literally in a specific village in Siberia or China. The vast majority of reishi on the market is grown indoors, under manufactured conditions, often through the use of a number of dubious chemicals. By stark comparison, our authentically wild Altai reishi is entirely an organic product of the forest, and because it must survive intense climatic fluctuations, from very hot Summers, to brutally cold Winters, intense UV and other oxidative stressors, its revered suite of bioactive compounds, beta-glucans, triterpenoids, sterols, polysaccharides, phenols, etc, are produced in larger concentrations as a natural defence mechanism. Benefits that absolutely are conferred to whoever is lucky enough to imbibe it.Our wild Siberian mushrooms may not look as pretty as the indoor grown ones, as they often have marks from moss, lichen, perhaps fallen pine needles or indentations from fallen twigs and all the other things that might collect near the forest floor, or drop from the canopy above, but their nutrition, robustness and medicinality is far superior. Reishi mushrooms, commonly referred to as the "King of Mushrooms" or "The Mushroom of Longevity" are especially noted as one of the very most cherished and acclaimed organisms in traditional Daoist, Chinese, Tibetan and Russian medicinal systems. Reishi also has been scientifically studied more than practically any other medicinal edible on the planet, especially by Chinese, Korean, Russian and American scientists.Unlike fresh indoor grown reishi, these are fully dried, so you are not paying for any water weight. If you are wondering how much a typical sun-dried reishi mushroom weighs, that can vary tremendously, with smaller mushrooms weighing only 20g and very large specimens weighing around the 200g mark. In order to supply the correct weight, sometimes a mushroom may arrive cut in half, but most of the time, you will receive whole mushrooms.We are providing the whole sun-dried reishi and your chosen weight will come in a brown paper bag and can be stored in the bag or decanted into a suitable size glass jar, as you prefer.Instructions: To make a potent reishi tea/hot water infusion, simply pour 1 litre of good quality water into a saucepan and add 10g to 30g of your dried reishi mushroom to the saucepan. Bring to the boil, turn to a simmer, and let simmer for 1-2 hours. In this time, the water will typically reduce to 750ml of potent reishi tea. Strain and enjoy. Repeat 2-3 times to extract all the goodness from the mushroom, then discard into your compost. Reishi is also a wonderful companion to simmer alongside our other similarly hardy wild offerrings: Chaga, Dandelion root and Shatavari.While smaller, thinner mushrooms can be broken in the hand, medium to larger mushrooms can be carefully cut on a chopping board with a sharp knife. In general though, if the mushroom is a bit too dense, I preferentially advise to make an initial tea with the whole mushroom, then cut it after its first boiling, now soft and hydrated, it is considerably easier to cut.Pro tip: after simmering your reishi, and the mushrooms have cooled down, make sure to squeeze the pieces with your hand to release the extra potent tea hidden hidden inside them. Dissolve 100g of Magnesium Flakes in 0.8 to 1 litre of hot clean water. They will dissolve quickly anyway, but you can give them a little stir. When sufficiently cooled, soak your head in the bowl for a few minutes, using your hands to cover saturate as much hair as possible with the magnesium rich liquid.After a few minutes, you can pour the remainder of liquid over any hair or parts of the scalp that did not get a thorough soaking. Next, cover with a towel and let dry naturally. For the next few hours the magnesium will continue to absorb transdermally through the scalp and hair follicles, entering the bloodstream for your body's own use, but also, dissolving away those old calcium deposits and bringing fresh blood flow to the scalp and hair follicle. Many people prefer to do before bed, and sleep with the magnesium in, and wash off in the morning. Repeat 2-3 times a week, to increase hair growth, nourish and bring renewed blood flow to the scalp and hair follicle.Alternatively make your own magnesium spray at 25-32% concentration with clean water.
