By raw we mean that it has been gently and slowly dried below 45C to maximise its acclaimed suite of phytonutrients and phytoestrogens. By 100% fruit powder we mean that this exceptional quality powder has absolutely zero preservatives, such as magnesium stearate, which is very commonly (often secretly) added to numerous fruit and root powders. Naturally organically produced, by virtue of its completely wild origins, just not organically certified.

Aguaje trees are one of the most abundant tree species of the Amazon and Orinoco basin and they are both native and endemic to these rich tropical South American ecosystems. The fruits are a botanical marvel and are deeply valued by many indigenous and local communities all across Northeastern Peru, especially for their reputation to rejuvenate, nourish and beautify.

Aguaje palm, with the latin name Mauritia flexuosa and also known as Buriti or Moriche Palm is a tall slender palm species that often grows upwards of 35 metres. These  unique highly-valued fruits are sustainably harvested in the deep Amazonian forests of Peru by local indigenous harvesters. Using specially designed harnesses, the aguaje trees are carefully scaled, and only the ripe fruits are collected.

Our Aguaje powder has been gently dried and slowly masticated/powdered at temperatures just below 45 degrees Celsius. Dose

The standard recommended dose of our aguaje fruit powder is a heaped teaspoon a day. After 10 to 14 days at that dose, when you have acclimatised to the constituents of this incredible fruit, you may wish to increase to two heaped teaspoons a day. Blend into a juice, or smoothie, sprinkle on top of yoghurt or granola, add to raw cheesecakes, or salad dressings; aguaje fruit is a versatile ingredient that can be used in both sweet and savoury applications, the main thing is simple, get it inside of you.
